German's leave weird and whacky Christmas decorations outside their houses. At least it's not all flashing neon nonsense.. it's good old fashioned bits of wood nonsense.

castles in the sky

Got onto the roof of the hotel after having breakfast and shot some acceptable birdseye views of Wenceslas square in the misty morning. The Sky improved massively, even with some Wintry blue poppping through. I only shot with the 70-200 vr and the 17-55mm this weekend. Captured over a thousand images. Made it to Saint Vitus' cathedral and the Castle(Hrad).. We had a great irish coffee at a lovely cafe with a an aerial view of Prague and then lunched again with Steak at the Slavia Kavarna. We wended our way back through the streets before having another drink at the seedy and beautifully old fashioned Europa hotel.

Mission Impossible

Lisa and I shot the main sights of Prague in sub-zero temperatures. As Prague has never been bombed or ravaged by war the buildings are interesting and eclectic.. We even made it across the Karluv Most(Charles Bridge). Had a fantastic steak at the famous eatery, the retro splendour of Slavia Kavarna on Narodni. A brilliant place with excellent food, truly succulent steak(9 out of 10). After some respite at the hotel we discovered our luggage was now in Frankfurt so undeterred we went out into the crisp magic of the night and had another good meal at the Kafka restaurant. Back in the hotel I witnessed England being matched up with Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago and Paraguay in the World Cup draw from Leipzig. Awoken by the phone at 2 AM our luggage had arrived. I picked it up from reception.

Pragued

Despite hitting a massive tailback on the way to Hannover airport due to a smash-up , and sitting in a jam for over an hour we made it on our flight to Prague.. The courteous Czech Airlines held the plane for us and we boarded and set off immediately.. What a result we managed it against all odds.. Only one problem our luggage didn't quite make it on time! Our polite driver, Michael drove us to our hotel in Wenceslas Square. It's so cold in the Czech Republic that Christmas trees change colour.

City on Fire

Loved watching the Blues annihilate Charlton this evening, 5-2 with goals from Sinclair, Barton, Cole and two from Vassell. This is a shot I captured of Darius Vassell at Manchester airport a couple of summers ago when he was playing for Aston Villa. Peter Crouch is also in the left of the frame with the defender Samuel in the middle.

What became of the Likely Lads?

Saw this sign in Arnhem, Holland recently flashback to Manchester in 1981...
The Arndale, The Underground Market, Adidas trainers rushed back from the continent on sale at Oasis. Stolen from Ivor, Marco Polo in the Royal Exchange, Fiorucci on King Street, jumbo cords, box cords, cord jackets, cord shoes, one eyes, bowlheads,
